Lessons from Human-Computer Interaction Elective

Well, this is my first post. I am not used to this activity and I think I need to warm-up a bit. I'll discuss an important lesson from one of my electives. The picture on the right was taken from the University of Makati last week. Pardon if this is somewhat blurry, this is only a test shot. This image displays a bad user-interface design because of the cap/lid that covers the smoke alarm. This prevents the device to detect smoke from potential fire. This is probably done in purpose to avoid unnecessary alarms but what if there is a real fire incident? This device proves to be ineffective.
